Hey Jen, couldn’t agree more on your thoughts. To me, busy is so superfluous… Being busy is mundane and cliche, and I think it’s the word everyone uses when they mean they’re getting through the day completing chores, errands, etc etc etc. Definitely a ‘badge of honor’. I think it can also be looked at the opposite way though – being ‘busy’ meaning life is boring, the same, nothing’s new….

Lets use more adjectives like excellent, well, happy, when people ask us how we are!!! Busy is BORING MAN!

Love your writing Jen, and absolutely getting a conscious ink tattoo. You’re such an inspiration to me.

I actually only just now got around to checking out this vlog because, wait for it, I was “so busy”. This has definitely become my catch phrase in the past year since I have discovered what direction I would like to take in terms of my career path, and I have noticed the ways in which I put pressure on myself to get so many things done to the point that I am juggling too much and start to live in a constant state of feeling drained or like I am trying to catch up–but catch up to what? What is is that I am chasing? Some vision of myself where my life is perfect because I have achieved everything necessary to feel important enough, interesting enough, successful enough…
It is so dangerous because there is no end point to that, no finish line, so it is an endless, exhausting race and the only way to actually experience your life and enjoy it, just as it is, right now, and not allow this illusory sense that there will be more happiness in some theoretical future. One more place where I can learn to LET GO–this moment, my life just as it is right now, is as perfect as it’s ever going to get.
