Wow Jen. I’ve experienced the same exact thing, the snide and muffled (or sometimes not-so-muffled) comments about my narcissism for self-promoting on social media. I needed to see this, I needed these words of yours. Especially considering I’m JUST starting out, and it’s been hard to cope with the judgement for doing what I do, trying to build a BUSINESS via self-promotion and social media. I FELT narcissistic. I believed them. Thank you for reminding me of the truth. I can only hope to one day be as successful in the fearless chasing of my passions as you are, to actually call it my career, that’s the dream – and this is the way to get there. I applaud you for asking for what you want and for inspiring us all to do the same! Just think how functionally the world would operate if we all just asked for what the HELL we want…

yes! thank you! this also came at just the right time for me, just as I’m delving a little deeper into social media and that little voice in my head saying “you’re too self-absorbed,” “you’re just bugging people.” Nice to know I’m not alone and that it’s ok to shut that voice off!
